Report on JISGE meetingn held in London on 30 JAN 2010

The Juche Idea Idea Study Group of England and the Association for the Study of
Songun Politics UK held a meeting in central London on January 30th to celebrate
the birth of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il,the greatest national holiday of the
Korean people.
The meeting was attended by more than 12 people and a number sent apologies due not
being able to attend.Those in attendance included core members of the Juche Study
Group of England and Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK but also members
of the UK Korean Friendship Association,members of the academic community from
the University of London and other UK universities,a member of the Greek Communist
Party (KKE) resident in London,members of the Co Ordination Committee of Revolutionary
Communists(in individual and personal capacity) and progressive people.

The meeting was opened by Chairman Dermot Hudson.He drew attention to the
tense situation on the Korean peninsula caused by the south Korean puppets and
US imperialists.He explained that the "northern limit line " is bogus as it was
unilaterally imposed by the south Korean puppets and US imperialists. He read out the statement of the spokesman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK.A
brief discussion followed on the issue of the increasing tension in Korea.One participant
pointed out that for years the south Korean puppets had covered up the truth of the
Cheju Island massacre.
Chairman Dermot Hudson made some remarks on the DPRK New
Year editorial stressing the central task in raising living standards.Participants in the
meeting said it was wonderful that in Socialist Korea living standards would increase.
Kevin Cain organisation secretary of the JISGE and also Organisation Secretary
of UK KFA and publisher of "For Bolshevism" read out a statement by comrade
Nina Andreeva general secretary of the AUCPB on the occasion of the 68th birthday
of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il.The statement praised the on the spot guidance
of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il and expounded the vitality and correctness of
the DPRK's policies.
Chairman Dermot Hudson read out a paper entitled "THE GREAT LEADER COMRADE KIM JONG ILS’ ON THE SPOT GUIDANCE ,SELF RELIANCE AND ECONOMIC GROWTH".He said that the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il " tirelessly gave on the spot guidance.KCNA reported that provided field guidance to at least 200 units across the country this year. (I would add here that this means that he was giving on the spot guidance 2 out of every 3 working days in the year)"
He also said "".However besides the quantative growth there were 2 vitally important aspects involved.Firstly,the widespread introduction of Korean made Computer
Numerically Controlled machine tools into sectors of the DPRK economy.These are known as the cutting edge and there is even a new popular song "Cutting Edge".CNC machine tools have boosted productivity and cut costs.In one case they reduced the amount of hours required to produce turbine parts from 800 hours to 50 hours.Secondly,2009 saw the workers and technical staff at the Songjin Steel Complex in the north east realise a long cherished goal -the production of Juche iron and steel ie the production of and iron using native resources and methods.This means that the need for coking coal is eliminated in
the iron production process thus meaning that steel and iron production can proceed without interruption and the industry has been liberated from reliance on a foreign source of materials.Leader Kim Jong Il described this as a victory greater than a third nuclear test.
Thus the DPRK economy has made a huge leap forward in 2009 and the basis laid for a self sutaining take off into economic growth as well for the goal of building a great prosperous powerful socialist nation and raising peoples
living standards.This is the fruit of leader Kim Jong Il's on the spot guidance and Songun leadership.This is the reason why Korean people celebrate the date of his birth and also friends of the DPRK also celebrate it.".

Dr Hugh Goodacre of the University of London spoke about the work of the great leader
comrade Kim Jong Il "The DPRK is a Juche Orientated Socialist State with Invincible
Might".He said that the strength of the DPRK was its people orientated policies.He said
that the DPRK had advanced along the road of socialism succesfully despite many
decades of sanctions and pressure by imperialism.Owing the prevailing situation in
which the imperialists try to crush the DPRK by military force leader Kim Jong Il
developed Songun politics making the Peoples Army the pillar of the revolution.Dr
Goodacre recalled seeing the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il at a function in the
DPRK and recollected the deep impression this made on him.

Shaun Pickford,secretary general of the Group, read out a paper "Review of the past 10 years of the Juche Idea Study Group".He said that despite attempts by various associated hostile forces to isolate and stifle the Study Group it had maintained its existence and held seminars and meetings over the past 10 years.It had established other organisations such as the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK.He said they regard the
UK Korean Friendship Association as the brother organisation of the Group.He referred
to the viscious and criminal slanders heaped on the UK KFA by certain hostile forces.
Secretary Pickford recalled various succesful meetings the group had held.Also he
spoke of the work on the Internet by Group Chairman Dermot Hudson.He spoke of the
visits made by himself and Dermot Hudson to the Democratic Peoples Republic of
Korea.
A congratulory letter to the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il and a message of support
to the DPRK NDC and KPA general Staff were adopted.

The meeting concluded.A sandwich buffet was held and participants socialised in
a cordial atmosphere.
